Performing with other musicians
At KRPS we strive to create confident, well-rounded musicians by giving students regular performing opportunities. We hold two class recitals each year which are celebrations of each student's progress in an enthusiastic and supportive atmosphere. For the more advanced students we organize recitals in the community and offer monthly performance classes where they can hone their performing skills. Some KRPS students have performed live and on radio from Koerner Hall, and with classical superstar Lang Lang at Roy Thompson Hall, Toronto!
EXAMS
At KRPS we prepare students of all ages for exams in piano, music theory, history and pedagogy with 3 Canadian music conservatories - the Royal Conservatory of Music, the Canadian National Conservatory of Music and Conservatory Canada. Students have had great success in these exams, and have received scholarships and high school accreditation for their exceptional results. Katherine specializes in senior level instruction - levels 9 to ARCT and university students - as well as the mentoring of young teaching professionals.
COMPETITIONS
Students at KRPS have the opportunity to enter various music competitions and festivals. Our students have received awards and scholarships in the following: Don Banks Music Award, Davenport and Kiwanis Music Festivals, Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association Auditions and Recitals, Toronto International Film Festival and the WNED Radio Young Performers' Talent Search - to name a few!

As well, KRPS students have been accepted at universities across Ontario and the United States - University of Toronto, Wilfrid Laurier University, Western University, and Westminster Choir College, Princeton! KRPS students have gone on to pursue careers in performance, piano pedagogy, music education, and composition.
ALL AGES AND LEVELS
At KRPS we work with students of all ages and levels. Adult learners fulfill their lifelong dreams of understanding and making beautiful music! We have a special program for young children ages 4-6 which introduces them to structured piano lessons presented in modules which are fun and easily absorbed by young minds. Ask us about the Teaching Little Mozarts program! Some students follow a personalized curriculum. They learn pieces that they love and go at their own pace.
