Katherine Ramseyer, MMus, HBMus, LTCL, AMus, RMT
Katherine Ramseyer is the director of the Katherine Ramseyer Piano Studio (KRPS) in Etobicoke. She is a fine pianist with a passion for teaching at the highest level. Katherine has university degrees in piano performance from Western University (Masters) and Wilfrid Laurier University (Honours Bachelor). She holds a Licentiate Diploma from Trinity College, England and an Associate of Music Degree from Conservatory Canada. Katherine was accepted to study at both the prestigious Banff Centre and the Orford Arts Centre. She is a highly qualified piano and music theory teacher with over 30 years of teaching experience. Katherine is a long-standing member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association (ORMTA). In addition to her private studio, she teaches classroom piano and music theory for the Toronto District School Board.
In addition to her teaching, Katherine is an active music maker. She is well received as a collaborative artist and regularly accompanies singers and instrumentalists in recitals, musicals, Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) exams, auditions and competitions. Katherine is an accomplished event pianist, performing in venues across the GTA and beyond. She is also the music director at Martin Grove Baptist Church in Etobicoke. She thoroughly enjoys working with choirs, singers and instrumentalists, playing organ, singing harmonies and improvising chord charts. Katherine is proficient in a multitude of musical styles, including sacred, classical, jazz and popular!
Katherine is a recorded song writer and her work can be heard through iTunes in the recordings of Jeremy and Connie Sinnott from Catch the Fire, Barrie. Stay tuned for an upcoming piano album of relaxing original piano music!
